The DRV series with the identification "-SW" were specially developed for use with seawater. The carefully selected materials ensure optimum corrosion resistance. Whenever the medium seawater is used, you can use our pressure reducers of the SW series, e.g. on ships, oil platforms or in desalination plants.
With inlet pressures up to 25 bar and outlet pressures between 0.5 and 9 bar, our standard valves are suitable for many applications. In addition, we also offer other pressure ranges to suit your application. Our pressure reducers are suitable for both low (from kvs-value 2.9 m⊃3;/h) and high (up to kvs-value 210 m⊃3;//h) flow rate applications.
Only seals with a high resistance to seawater are used for this series. As standard we use NBR seals for all types, optionally EPDM or Viton seals can be used.
Smaller nominal diameters up to DN 32 are equipped with a removable cartridge made of POM and red-bronze. From DN 40 upwards, the internal parts are made completely of red-bronze. Pressure reducers of the DRV 6 series have a spindle made of high-quality stainless steel.
All types of the DRV 3, 5 and 6 SW series have a red-bronze housing (CuSn5Zn5Pb2-C-GS / CC491K, "RG5"). This material has been used for decades in the field of drinking water and seawater and is known for its high seawater corrosion resistance. Red-bronze is a further development of the so-called gunmetal, which has been used in shipping for centuries.
Like all other parts in contact with the medium, the flanges are made of red-bronze. Up to DN 80 they comply with DIN EN 1092 PN 25, from DN 100 they can be supplied according to DIN EN 1092/PN 16 or optionally also according to DIN EN 1092/PN 25. Of course we also offer flanges according to ANSI, JIS, etc.
